Preserving the stories of the Real Places and Real people of Texas
Each of our projects aims to keep Texas’s heritage and legacy alive and endeavors to preserve the stories of all Texans. The core aim of all of our projects—both completed and ongoing—is to provide opportunities for all Texans, generational and new to the state, as well as visitors to explore the rich and complicated history of the state. Through our projects, we support the Texas Historical Commission’s core mission of preservation, stewardship, and place-based, experiential learning. We continue to work on projects that address our core programmatic initiatives – enhancing the visitor experience through capital projects, creating educations opportunities and resources for students and visitors, and building preservation capacity through stewardship.
